LUNCH ACCOUNT INFORMATION
Just a reminder to all parents to be aware of your childs lunch account balance. While we realize that occasionally that a parent may forget to send lunch money when needed, balances cannot continue to build. Jr/Sr High school students MUST have money in their account to purchase a lunch (we will allow up to 3 charges). Intermediate school students also must have money in their account to purchase a lunch. If account balances build to a serious level, an alternate lunch MAY be provided. Balance notices are sent home on a frequent basis for accounts that have a negative balance.
Free/Reduced lunch applications were sent home on the first day of school and need to be returned COMPLETELY filled out to qualify for benefits. If you didn't receive one, copies are available in each school office.
If you have questions about lunch accounts, please feel free to call the building managers for detailed information.
DID YOU KNOW?
Did you know that Elwood Community Schools offer breakfast at NO CHARGE at both the Elementary and Intermediate Schools? Encourage your child to take advantage of this opportunity to start the day off right with a healthy, well balance breakfast daily.
Kids who DON'T EAT BREAKFAST are less able to learn at school, consumer less iron ( a valuable
nutient) in their diet, and are more likely to have a higher body mass index (BMI) which is a sign they may be overweight.
Elwood Community School Food Service takes PRIDE in serving high quality, name brand items. Did you know that we feature Red Gold tomato products? GoldKist and Tyson chicken? JTM Beef and Pork products?
